Lisianthus care involves providing full sun, well-draining soil, and consistent moisture without waterlogging, ideally in rich, slightly acidic soil (pH 6.0-7.0). For cut flowers, use a clean, tall vase, remove lower leaves, trim stems at an angle, add flower food, and keep them away from sun, drafts, and fruit to last longer. They need good air circulation and protection from high humidity to prevent fungal issues.
Growing in the Garden (Plants)
  • Sunlight: Full sun, at least 6 hours daily, but avoid intense afternoon sun in very hot climates.
  • Soil: Well-draining, rich in organic matter (compost), slightly acidic (pH 6.0-7.0). Raised beds or containers work well.
  • Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but never soggy; water deeply when the topsoil feels dry. Water the soil, not the leaves.
  • Air Circulation: Good airflow helps prevent fungal diseases.
  • Support: Stake taller varieties to prevent them from flopping over.
  • Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.
