Gazania’s GroundCover

Gazanias are low-maintenance ground cover plants that require full sun, well-draining sandy or loamy soil, and infrequent watering. To care for them, ensure they receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily, water deeply but infrequently (allowing soil to dry out between waterings), and deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowering. 

• Full sun: Gazanias thrive in full sun, which is essential for the flowers to open. They need at least six hours of direct sunlight per day. 

• Well-draining: They prefer sandy or loamy soil that allows excess water to drain freely to prevent root rot.
• Soil pH: They can tolerate a range of soil pH levels, from acidic to alkaline. 

• Drought-tolerant: Gazanias are water-wise and drought-tolerant, so they do not need frequent watering.
• Water deeply and infrequently: Water deeply when the soil is dry, allowing it to dry out between waterings.
• Water the base: Water at the base of the plant to avoid wetting the leaves.
