Budleyia (butterfly Bush)

To care for a buddleia (butterfly bush), plant it in a sunny spot with well-draining soil. Water it regularly during its first year, but established plants are drought-tolerant. Prune annually in early spring to encourage bushiness and deadhead spent flowers from midsummer until frost to prolong blooming. 

• Sun: Plant in full sun for the best growth and most blooms. It will become lanky in partial shade.
• Soil: Ensure the soil drains well. If you have heavy clay soil, amend it with organic matter to improve drainage.
• Water: Water deeply during the first year to establish the plant. Established plants are drought-tolerant, so avoid overwatering.
